I've made no secret of my love of George Harrison over the years. I was introduced to his music and then (paradoxically) the music of the Beatles at the right time in my life. He made a big impression on me and I was deeply saddened when I heard that he had died (and I still can't believe it was ten years ago). I remember that I was out of town at my cousin Matthew Wemple's wedding when I heard. I spent the time that I wasn't doing usher/wedding things feeling rather blue and numb.
A year later, The Concert For George happened. Eric Clapton and most of Harrison's closest musical friends put on one hell of a show, playing George's music. It's truly an uplifting concert and I enjoyed watching it immensely.
Today George Harrison's website is going to stream the whole concert for free in honor of the man's birthday. If you haven't ever seen it, do yourself a favor.

Ravi's daughter is unbelievable on that show.

I agree Stephen! I hadn't seen much of her before that show & I was really impressed.

McCartney's uke version of "something in the way" at this concert gives me chills and near brings me to tears every time I hear it. I have ripped it from the DVD and have it on my Ipod in just about every playlist I've created.
